Disney Homeschool Days Tickets Help

Where do we purchase the discounted Disney homeschool days tickets? What is the difference between starter, hopper, & premium package? Thank you.

Hi Risherrah,
You can purchase the discounted Disney homeschool days tickets right from the Disney Youth Programs website (https://www.studentguest.com/homeschooldays/). I noticed they are now calling it "Disney Student Seminars" formerly known as Homeschool Days. The discounted tickets are only available online; you will be able to purchase Disney Homeschool Days tickets a few weeks before each event.

Disney World, in Florida, currently hosts two homeschooling events per year - one in the winter and one in the fall. The discounted tickets can be used any day during the Homeschool Days event; each event runs for approximately two weeks or so.

For example, the fall 2013 event was from October 1-18 - the special presentation was on the 9th, at Hollywood Studios. You can purchase ticket packages to use on any of the days; they don't have to be used consecutively.

The difference between the starter, hopper, and premium ticket package is as follows...

The starter ticket allows you to visit one theme park per day.

The hopper ticket allows you to "hop" from park to park per day, meaning, you can visit more than one theme park per day.

The premium ticket offers the same benefit as the hopper ticket, as well as the opportunity to visit Disney's water parks AND indoor interactive theme park. If you purchase a 3 day premium ticket package, you can visit multiple parks on each of the three days, and visit the water parks, or indoor interactive theme park up to three times.

Our family purchased a five day starter ticket package. From the research I did, and now from my experience, one theme park per day works well for most families. If you are an experienced Disney guest, and/or have older kids who won't tire out, the hopper ticket may be a wise purchase. If your budget allows, the flexibility of park hopping is a nice perk!

Since it was our two youngest children's first visit, paying the extra cost for the hopper option wasn't a good idea for our family. We knew that each theme park would more than fill up each day. We spent one day at each of the following theme parks: Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, and went to Magic Kingdom for two days.

A time-saving tip... forego the lines and get more fun out of your tickets by getting them ahead of time. We visited Downtown Disney the day we arrived and picked up our tickets at Guest Services, instead of getting them on our way into the theme park.

I hope this helps! Wishing you many magical homeschool memories!

Blessings,
Heather :)
