Christian Homeschool Curriculums: Christian Light Education

Thrifty families searching through the myriad of Christian homeschool curriculums will appreciate the simplicity and affordability of CLE.

We have used Christian Light Education for 2nd & 3rd grade & have really enjoyed it! We have used it for Reading, Language Arts, Bible, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics & Cursive.

Each subject for each year is broken down into "Light Units" which are small workbooks (usually 10 per subject & year). There are a few quizzes in each unit. I also bought the teacher books to go w/ most subjects. The curriculum is very user friendly & the teacher books made covering each subject very simple because it gives you lesson plans for every lesson as well as answer keys. It comes w/ the basics for every lesson & then can be expanded upon as much or as little as you choose.

Mathematics has really great daily review while building new skills daily. I love the cursive book, "I Can Write". Each lesson has some facts and practice words & sentences. I saw great improvement by the time the book was finished. We also really like the Reading course. We also bought the readers that accompany the course. I really appreciate that they are not just reading for silly's sake but are good, character encouraging stories. This is the case throughout the entire curriculum. My kids really enjoy the light unit concept & they always know exactly what should be accomplished in a day.

When I was searching for Christian homeschool curriculums I found that the prices were very good. When a budget is tight you can always order just a little at a time or the whole years worth. Overall I think Christian Light Education is a great value for the price.
