Calvert Homeschool Curriculum Review
I used Calvert homeschool curriculum for my son from K-8th, he moved onto a home-high school and combined it with a technical center where he excelled. He graduated this year having had all A's throughout and with honors. I have also homeschooled my daughter from K-6 with the Calvert homeschool program. They have two different speeds, Academic and Scholastic; in the end both cover the same information, but one reviews more. Everything you need to teach is sent to you, including paper and pencils. You are even told how to teach; although doing it that way is not mandatory. You can purchase a teachers help for questions and testing, to ensure your children are keeping up. If you do, you will receive a certificate (they have graduated from their state-recognized private school). I have heard some say they don't like the structure but structure IS a part of life and needs to be taught just like getting up and getting dressed for the day. Most states say you must teach equivalent to what is taught in school; Calvert does that. I've had many public school students tell me they too went through many, or most of the books that Calvert uses. To me, Calvert is worth the price; you do get quality. I've also compared it to other correspondent schools at home school fairs and it is obvious...Calvert homeschool program is TOP NOTCH!
