Box Tops for Education Info Needed

Our homeschool group is doing the Box Tops for Education program and have received our first check made out to the group. We can't cash it, though. How did you work through this?

We are considering having it reissued into the name of the church where we hold our classes so they can use the money. We really don't want to sign up as a "non-profit" which was suggested by the bank. Thanks for your help!!

Hi Lisa,
I have a checking account in our homeschool group's name and just deposited it into that account.

You don't need to sign-up as a non-profit. When I first opened the business checking account for our group, I only had a DBA.

Does your group have their own checking account?
