Bob Jones Homeschool Math Review

I have used Bob Jones homeschool math curriculum for grades K5 through 4th grade. The 3rd Edition of K5 is wonderful; the student workbook and hands-on materials are so cute and colorful. Farmer Brown & Cheddar the Mouse are the main characters through out the book. Your child learns about farming as well as math. It was my son’s favorite subject of the day.

Grades 1 through 3 are also very good. Each year you follow a character and his pet on adventures through Math. Each new chapter begins with an adventure story featuring these characters; each lesson then correlates to that adventure.

I do not recommend grade 4, however. We did complete the year but found it lacking in good solid instructions for easy teaching. Both myself, the teacher, and my daughter struggled with new concepts presented.

Bob Jones homeschool math curriculum is easily found second-hand and therefore is very affordable. If you purchase the Student Materials Packet, also available second-hand, you have all the hands-on resources you need. Any other item suggested for teaching is found in your home.
