BJU Review: Bob Jones Homeschool Curriculum on DVD

Busy mom shares some great benefits of using Bob Jones homeschool curriculum on DVD. Her favorite? Being the one that spends the most time with her children...

We have used the Bob Jones homeschool curriculum teaching DVDs for grades one through five so far, and have been very pleased. Each lesson goes in so much detail and provides word pictures example, when applicable, of what is being taught.

There are projects and experiments to do with the teaching, thus covering all styles of learning: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.

Bob Jones homeschool curriculum on DVD also gives me the flexibility to sit down, one on one, with each of my children if they are having difficulty with a concept.

BJU is much more affordable than private schools and I have the joy of being the one that spends the most time with my children.

We used home sat for a year, what a night mare. Loved the content, but oh my the logistic of the whole thing, and the cost. DVD's would of been so much easier.

We used Home Sat for five years and once we had a system going, we loved it!
Now we are switching to their online service. The kids and I can't wait!

we have been using bju homesat on dvd for nearly a year - it is excellent, very thorough.
the only thing is the time factor - it takes on average 4 hours to complete, if we are short on time we just do the worksheets.

 Bob Jones Algebra I Online

We used the Bob Jones online Algebra I course this summer as a study tool for exams that were given at our son's school. We covered chapters 5 through 12. I was disappointed to find that the most difficult topics of each chapter weren't covered. Chapter 13 was skipped altogether (7.7, 7.8, 8.9, 9.6, 9.7, 10.9, 11.5, 11.7, and 11.8). When I asked customer support about the missing topics, their response was that the topics would be covered in Algebra II. My son's school expects him to learn these topics in Algebra I, so we had to learn them on our own. I was left with the impression that the online course provides a lower level of learning than the traditional course.

Does anyone know if the DVD course covers all the topics?
