Before Five In A Row is filled with excellent books and easy, hands-on activities for homeschool preschool children. Read this mom's review to learn more...
We have loved Before Five in a Row. The booklist has been excellent for my 2.5 year old son. We bought all the books we could find, including out of print ones when we could find them for a reasonable price - and read them over and over.
The activities are just right for a 2 -3 year old, but could easily be stretched to challenge a 4 -5 year old, especially if paired with the free lapbooks on homeschool share that coordinate with most of the BFIAR books.
Some have said the activities in Before Five In A Row are obvious things that you would "do anyhow". Maybe those moms are more creative than I am :) I find the ideas in the book quite helpful as a guide for exploring new concepts and projects on a simple level my 2.5 year old can understand. If you are not a natural with kids or a veteran parent of multiple kids - you will probably like the ideas and find them helpful.
BFIAR also has a great section after the book section with general parenting ideas for interacting with and teaching toddlers (with ideas for crafts, music, gross and fine motor skills, and other things - even how to keep your toddler entertained in the grocery store). Overall well worth the purchase.
Excellent Before Five In A Row homeschool curriculum review, Keely! Thanks for taking the time to share with others - your thoughts are so helpful! Blessings, Heather :)
