Hands-on Alpha Omega Home School Curriculum
We have used Horizons for the preschool and kindergarten years. I love the Horizons preschool foremost. It is very colorful which attracts the child to doing the worksheets. It moves along at a wonderful pace that I think suits all levels. The curriculum also tells you what to teach, when to teach, and how, which is wonderful when it comes to planning your school day. It also includes weekly supply lists for the whole year! I enjoyed the Horizons kindergarten as well for all of the same reasons as above, however, for my oldest, the language arts seemed to move a little too quickly. Granted you can move at your own pace, after all we do home-school! The language arts was introducing a new consonant blend nearly everyday, which was too much for my big guy. However, the math moves a little quicker as well, but he was able to pick it up with no problem. I love the layout of Horizons curriculum, and the fact that it tells us, the teacher, everything to do and how to teach it!
