ACE Homeschool Curriculum and School of Tomorrow

ACE Homeschool Curriculum Review

ACE Homeschool Curriculum Review

Self-directed ACE homeschool curriculum helps this busy mom school four children at the same time. Learn why she uses ACE and for what grades.

Our family has been homeschooling for three years now and we have used the ACE/School of tomorrow workbook based curriculum for everything but Math and phonics training from the beginning. We have used it for 1st - 5th grades as well as 8th-10th grades.

My husband was also homeschooled for Jr high and high school and used ACE homeschool curriculum. I feel it really gave us an easy way to get started in homeschooling with four children in different grades. They workbooks are very self directed and really helped my children to develop a sense of responsibility for their own work.

This system can be quite expensive but the cost can be made more manageable in several ways. First you can buy the workbooks and correction keys one or a few at a time from the school of tomorrow website - this makes it easy to spread the cost across several months. I saved all the correction keys from previous grades to use for my next child in line. For the younger children (third and below) I did not order the Science, History or Bible. It was very easy to supplement with free resources and unit studies.

The one drawback I have found is that for younger grades it can feel a bit stifling and lacking in creative projects. I have decided to continue with a different program for my elementary grade children (4th and 6th grade now) but will be returning to the ACE program for Jr high as well as continuing with it for my 10th grader.

Dawn, I appreciate your ACE homeschool curriculum tips; I know other parents will find your feedback very helpful. Blessings, Heather
