ABeka Homeschool Curriclum Review
If you are looking for a bible-based, accredited program for your family, ABeka homeschool curriculum may be a perfect fit for you!I had homeschooled for two school years, 6th and 7th grade, and was looking for a more "Old Fashioned" way of teaching; where you read the material and then are tested on THAT material, not material from six lessons before. I found several different curriculum.
When I found and researched ABeka homeschool curriculum, we began using the ABeka DVD program in the 8th grade. We loved it! We began with the 8th because I was also looking for a curriculum that was accredited for the grades 9th-12th and ABeka offered this. ABeka offers several different programs: the "traditional" home program where you are the teacher and keep all records (there is no DVD), and the program we went with.
We went with the DVD program where I have some control but ABeka keeps all records and grades the final exams (you may grade if you care to, however they recheck all finals). This program is as if our daughter was attending the academy itself.
ABeka is a Christian based program. Bible is part of the ABeka homeschool curriculum and has to be passed along with all other subjects. If you are looking for a very structured curriculum then check out their web site. abekaacademy.org. Go to a "Material Display" near you. There you can see the books, and other things they offer. And someone is there to answer your questions! May you be as blessed as we have been.
