ABeka Homeschool Curriculum: First Grade Review

I have loved my A Beka homeschool curriculum. I ordered the Grade child kit with some extras for a total of $388.76, but it included every subject, all the books, worksheets, teacher manuals etc. It did keep my six year pretty busy; also my 4 year old was able to learn so much from it. I have used it for a whole year! I really liked how the curriculum is more advanced than some other ones that I have seen out there. For the price and with everything that it comes with which is a whole lot, it's well worth it! As far as cost-cutting tips goes I have used free resources online, good deals that I have found in thrift shops that give him extra stuff to do in the afternoon or in the car, or at doctor appointments. The writing section taught him how to write cursive really good but when it got to the paragraphs and such I did not think it was as strong. So I did substitute that for a workbook that I found in Borders on sale! That was great! It really got him thinking and gave him story lines that he could work with if he didn't know what to write about. Thanks for sharing your experience with ABeka homeschool curriculum, Cindy!
