Hi Heather, Let me just tell you a little bit about myself. I'm Mexican and my primary language is Spanish. My daughter and I have been using ABeka for the last three years (she is in 3rd grade now). I have had no problem understanding how to use it because ABeka is self-explanatory and user friendly, even for a person with weak English. I have learned many things a long with my daughter; one of them is enunciation. The curriculum is its very organized and complete. There is a lot of seatwork involved which can be at times a little overwhelming but it reinforces the concepts learned. The curriculum can be expensive, but there are ways to still save some money like: making your own manipulatives, using what you have at home, exchanging or recycling books with other homeschooling families. You could also visit your local secondhand stores. I purchased a set of phonic cards which usually costs around $33; I found them for just $1 dollar! I hope you find this information helpful.
