A Beka Readers Grades 2-3 Homeschool Review

Fourth grade student tests above grade level in reading after using A Beka. Check out his mom's A Beka Readers homeschool review...My son was enrolled in public school for k-1st grade. I decided to pull him out of public school and he was home schooled for grades 2-3. I started using the A Beka readers and we both loved them!
I liked that the vocabulary is more challenging than the books that he was reading in PS,and had reading comprehension questions at the end of each story as well the fact that the stories were Christian themed.
My son really liked the variety of stories in each reader and the explanation of the vocabulary words that were introduced into each story.
Since the each Reader packet comes with 5 or 6 books, the reading and vocabulary gradually increases with the completion of each reader, so he continually progresses.
Because of financial complications, I had to enroll my son back into public school for 4th grade. He was tested to see if he was on grade level because he was home schooled for two years. He tested on a 5th grade reading level and he was placed into 4th grade gifted classes.
Now that I am homeschooling again, I continue to use A Beka readers because they have improved my sons reading and vocabulary, and we love them!
Thanks for taking the time to help other parents learn about A Beka's homeschool reading curriculum and sharing how your son's reading progressed using the A Beka Readers. Your comments are so helpful! Blessings, Heather :)Learn more about ABeka homeschool curriculum, read more
